Fatal accident in Tangier: a gendarme loses his life

According to local sources cited by Achkayen, the gendarme, who was riding a motorcycle with a colleague, collided with two young women crossing a pedestrian crossing. The excessive speed of the two-wheeler and the lack of a helmet would have prevented the driver from avoiding the collision.

The two pedestrians were seriously injured in the accident. Alerted, the rescue services and the police officers quickly arrived on the scene. The victims and the two gendarmes were taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of the gendarmes, the passenger of the motorcycle, succumbed to his injuries. He was suffering from severe bleeding.

An investigation has been opened by the competent authorities to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and establish the responsibilities.
