Pedestrian Killed by Train in Fez, Morocco; Investigation Underway

A fatal rail accident occurred on Sunday evening in Fez, near the Zouagha district. A man in his thirties was hit by a passenger train running from Fez to Casablanca, while he was near the pedestrian footbridge.
The victim suffered serious head and lower limb injuries, which cost him his life on the spot. The emergency services, who quickly arrived on the scene, could only confirm his death.
The identification of the victim is made difficult by the absence of identity documents on the deceased. The authorities are working to determine his identity.
An investigation has been opened by the Fez police to clarify the circumstances of this accident. The victim’s body was transported to the morgue of the Al Ghassani regional hospital for the needs of the investigation.
