Former Moroccan Soccer Star’s Wife Arrested in Fatal Rabat Collision

The wife of Youssef Chippo, a former Moroccan international, was arrested and placed in custody on Monday after causing a fatal accident on Mohammed VI Avenue in Rabat.
The defendant, who was driving a luxury vehicle registered in her husband’s name, collided with a motorcycle carrying two soldiers at the entrance of a service station. She is said to have not respected the right-of-way, according to sources at Barlamane.com.
The two soldiers were taken to the Rabat military hospital. One ultimately succumbed to his injuries, while the other was taken care of and has already left the hospital.
After noting the victim’s death, the public prosecutor’s office of the Rabat Court of First Instance ordered the wife of Youssef Chippo to be placed in custody. She will be presented to the competent judge in the coming days, who will decide her fate.
