A Frenchman dies at the hospital in Tetouan after an accident, his Rolex stolen

Two employees of the Sania Rmel regional hospital in Tetouan were arrested last Wednesday, suspected of having stolen the luxury Rolex watch of a Frenchman who had just had a serious road accident.
The case began on Monday, when a 27-year-old man, victim of a road accident, was admitted to the emergency room in critical condition. Taking advantage of the situation, two employees in charge of the hospital’s entrances and exits stole the patient’s Rolex, a model estimated at several hundred thousand dirhams.
Unfortunately, the young man succumbed to his injuries. It was only when a relative noticed the disappearance of the watch that the alert was given. The hospital management then viewed the surveillance camera recordings, confirming the presence of the watch at the time of the patient’s admission.
The two suspects, who had left the hospital after their shift to go to Tangier, were quickly identified. They admitted to having sold the Rolex to a receiver for the sum of 25,000 dirhams.
Placed in custody, they are currently being questioned by the Tetouan police and will soon be brought before the courts.
