West Ham’s New Signing Nayef Aguerd Sidelined with Ankle Injury

In a press conference, David Moyes, the new coach of West Ham, spoke about the physical condition of his defender Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd.
Aguerd, the Hammers’ big signing this summer, was indeed injured during the friendly match against Glasgow Rangers (1-3) on Tuesday for his 2nd appearance with his new club.
Moyes, who had started the Moroccan after a first convincing match, declared after the match: "we have done x-rays to determine the seriousness of Nayef’s injury. Fortunately, no fracture was detected by the specialists [...] but it may be a ligament injury or an ankle sprain because the injury swelled up quickly, we hope it’s not too serious."
More or less reassuring news for the supporters, who hope for a return before the start of the championship scheduled in a few days.
