West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd Sidelined for Liverpool Clash, Season in Doubt

Bad news for West Ham and its central defender Nayef Aguerd. The Atlas Lion will miss the clash against Liverpool this Saturday, April 27, and could even see his season end prematurely.
Victim of an ankle injury during the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Bayer Leverkusen, Aguerd was unable to train this week and will not travel to Anfield. It is his coach, David Moyes, who confirmed the news in a press conference.
"Nayef will not be available, as he is not yet ready," Moyes said. "It’s a blow for us, as he is an important player for our team."
Aguerd’s absence is a new blow for West Ham, already deprived of several key players through injury. The Hammers will therefore have to compose with a remodeled defense to face Liverpool, a team in great form. This is also the case for the Moroccan team, which could do without one of the pillars of the Atlas Lions’ defense.
But Nayef Aguerd’s problems don’t stop there. The Moroccan central defender is also announced on the way out of the club at the end of the season. Several Saudi clubs would be interested in his services.
