Atlético Madrid Targets West Ham’s Aguerd in Defensive Transfer Pursuit

Nayef Aguerd would be on Atlético de Madrid’s radar. The Spanish club would have already started negotiations to recruit the Moroccan central defender from West Ham, in the form of a loan with a purchase option.
In search of a central defender, Atlético de Madrid wishes to secure the services of Nayef Aguerd this summer, believes Foot Mercato. The Moroccan international has become the priority of the Spanish club, which has already started negotiations with West Ham to acquire the 28-year-old player on loan with a purchase option.
However, this proposal from the Colchoneros does not seem to suit the Hammers, who would rather sell the Atlas Lion definitively. Also, the English club does not intend to sell its central defender for less than 20 million euros.
Nayef Aguerd arrived at West Ham two years ago from Rennes. After a first season where he was brilliant, the Moroccan international (28 games) experienced a worrying drop in form, which prompted the club’s management to seriously consider parting ways with him during this summer transfer window.
