West Ham Considers Selling Nayef Aguerd After Poor Defensive Performances

West Ham has expressed its willingness to let Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd leave, who has been delivering poor performances since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Ivory Coast 2023).
Is the adventure over for Nayef Aguerd at West Ham? Since his return from the 2023 CAN Ivory Coast, the club has conceded 11 goals in three matches. Many supporters have not hesitated to point the finger at the Hammers’ defense, and particularly the Atlas Lion. The English club’s officials are now ready to let him go at the end of the season, according to The Sun, adding that the English club plans to spend big on a central defender - and could profit from the Moroccan international.
Last summer, Liverpool and Manchester City showed interest in Aguerd, but they are not expected to join the race for the 27-year-old player. However, the Skyblues boss could still consider replacing Hammers midfielder Lucas Paqueta. Pep Guardiola could be interested in the Brazilian if Bernardo Silva leaves. City could not recruit him last summer, as he was the subject of an FA investigation for sports betting.
