West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd Attracts Saudi Interest Amid Potential Summer Transfer

Moroccan central defender Nayef Aguerd is likely to leave West Ham. The London club had in the meantime expressed its willingness to let the Moroccan international go, who has been multiplying poor performances since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Ivory Coast 2023).
Is the end near between West Ham and Nayef Aguerd? In anticipation of his expected departure this summer, the Moroccan international has hired new representatives, reports The Athletic, adding that Saudi clubs have expressed interest in the Moroccan defender before the summer transfer window. Among them, Al-Fayha who wanted to recruit him. For now, the 28-year-old player is not about to start an adventure in Saudi Arabia. His wish is to continue playing in a European league as long as he is still able to play at a high level.

West Ham would be asking for around 35 million euros (30 million pounds sterling) to let Aguerd go. The latter joined the Hammers from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for the same amount. But his market value in the transfer market is estimated at 38 million euros. London club manager David Moyes would be looking to replace the Moroccan international with Max Kilman, the central defender of Wolverhampton. The 25-year-old English player is valued at around 35 million euros (30 million pounds sterling) by the Wolves.
In addition to the Atlas Lion, players like Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus could also leave the Olympic Stadium in London this summer.
