Wave of cold and snow in Morocco
The weather is deteriorating in part of the Kingdom this weekend. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert bulletin, forecasting heavy snowfall and thunderstorms in several provinces starting this Sunday.
The reliefs will be particularly affected by this winter episode. Between Sunday noon and Monday morning at 9:00 a.m., the most significant snowfall, ranging between 20 and 30 centimeters, is expected in the provinces of Al Haouz and Azilal.
The snowflakes will also fall, to a lesser extent, on Ifrane, Boulemane, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Sefrou and Tinghir, where the layer could reach 10 to 15 centimeters during the same period.
In parallel with this snowfall, precipitation will affect the northwest of the country. Heavy rains, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, will hit the provinces of Tanger-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra, Tétouan, Larache and Kénitra this Sunday. The accumulations are estimated between 25 and 35 millimeters in the time slot from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
