Cold wave in Morocco: several regions under snow
Winter is setting in from this Wednesday in Morocco. Heavy snowfall and strong winds will affect several provinces, placing part of the Kingdom under orange vigilance for the day.
Thus, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts a marked winter episode from 1,700 meters of altitude. Between 01:00 and 18:00, the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou and Midelt should record the most significant accumulations, with an estimated snow depth between 20 and 30 centimeters. A layer of 5 to 10 centimeters is expected on the reliefs of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taourirt, Figuig, Taza, Khénifra, Azilal and Béni Mellal.
This disturbance is accompanied by violent winds that will sweep across the east of the country and the reliefs. From 03:00 to 21:00, gusts reaching 85 km/h will affect the provinces of Nador, Jerada, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Guercif, Figuig, Driouch, Boulemane, Taza and Midelt.
