Viral Video: British YouTuber Exposes Taxi Scam at Marrakech Airport

The taxi ride of a foreign tourist should have cost him 70 dirhams, but the driver demanded 350 dirhams. Aware of being scammed, the tourist paid the amount, but posted the story on his YouTube channel. The case has shocked Internet users.
Old habits die hard. Despite the many tourism campaigns to encourage the massive return of tourists to Morocco, some players in the sector continue to swim against the current. This is the case of a scammer taxi driver in Marrakech exposed by a British tourist.
In a widely shared video on the web, the famous YouTuber, named "Simon Wilson", explained that a taxi driver in Marrakech charged him a price of 350 dirhams, in exchange for his transfer from Marrakech-Menara International Airport to Jemaa El Fna Square.
He then gave him 400 dirhams on arrival. The famous driver still had trouble returning the 50 dirhams. The recording posted on his social media accounts is followed by more than 8 million people on various platforms. Another bad publicity for Marrakech.
