Violent Clashes Erupt After Moroccan Soccer Match, Injuring Dozens

AS FAR and RSB parted ways on Wednesday with a 1-1 draw, in the match counting for the Botola which opposed them at the Moulay Abdellah sports complex. However, incidents broke out at the end of the match, according to local authorities.
About thirty elements of the security forces, precisely 32, and two FAR supporters were injured. Supporters would have started uprooting the seats, vandalizing several facilities of the sports complex, they wanted to invade the pitch and were throwing stones and smoke bombs all over the place.
The injured were taken to the hospital to be treated, some being taken to the Ibn Sina University Hospital and others to the military hospital. An investigation has of course been initiated and some arrests have already been made. These would be people suspected of having participated in these acts of violence.
On the sporting side, in the Botola 1 standings, the FAR of Rabat are now 8th with 30 points for 24 games played, while the RSB is 10th with 29 points and has only played 23 games.
