Casablanca Derby Marred by Hooligan Violence; Multiple Arrests Made
Violence in stadiums between supporters continues to occur. On Sunday, after the derby that pitted Raja against Wydad of Casablanca at the Mohammed V sports complex, acts of hooliganism broke out between the supporters of the two teams, causing significant material damage.
Several arrests of people involved in these acts have already been made. It was a confrontation between supporters of the two teams, with stone throwing, near the stadium and on certain streets of the city. Two people were slightly injured in the ranks of the security forces and there was quite significant material damage, reports La Map.
The police were called in as reinforcements to restore order and control the hooligans. This is how they managed to arrest a group of people who will be investigated for their alleged involvement in these serious acts of violence, the same source specifies.
