Morocco: 10 Arrested After Fatal Soccer Fan Violence in Salé

Ten hooligans, including six minors, were arrested last Saturday in Salé for their alleged involvement in violence related to sports vandalism, with deadly stone throwing.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the suspects, who are part of the supporters of the Salé Sports Association, had exchanged stone throwing, late in the evening of Friday in the "Rahma" district of Salé, with other supporters of the AS FAR. This exchange resulted in the death of a supporter.
The body of the deceased was deposited in the morgue of the provincial hospital for medical autopsy, in order to determine the nature of the injury and the causes of death, according to the same statement.
The investigations carried out led to the identification of the perpetrators and accomplices of these acts of violence and the arrest of ten of them, the statement said.
Furthermore, an investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case, as well as the criminal acts attributed to each of these defendants.
