Vahid Halilhodzic Set to Take Helm of Morocco’s National Soccer Team

Before his imminent appointment at the head of the Atlas Lions, Vahid Halilhodzic has just officialized his divorce from his former club, FC Nantes. An agreement with the president of this sports team was reached in the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, 2019.
The Bosnian, aged 67, had submitted his resignation, knowing that he would leave the club without any form of compensation, and that he would receive a salary of 150,000 euros. We would be curious to know the nature of the contract he will sign with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
A farewell ceremony was organized by the Nantes public, on Friday, August 2, in honor of the Bosnian, during the preparatory match against the Italian team of Genoa. Meanwhile, the former FC Nantes player, Stéphane Ziani, will take over from Vahid Halilhodzic.
The Bosnian coach had already had a professional experience in Morocco, when he led the Raja de Casablanca team to the championship, during the African Champions League, in 1997. He also has to his credit the qualification of the Algerian team for the round of 16 of the World Cup, in Brazil.
