Former PSG Manager Luis Fernandez Emerges as Contender for Morocco National Team Job

While all the lights were green for the appointment of the Bosnian, Vahid Halilhodzic, and a contractual agreement had already been mentioned, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is about to reserve another surprise for the many fans of Moroccan football.

Unemployed since 2016, former Guinea coach Luis Fernandez is also interested in succeeding Hervé Renard and is currently negotiating with the FRMF to discuss his project, his ideas and his working conditions, and to see if this suits the needs of the Federation looking for a name to replace Hervé Renard, who is now coaching the Saudi national team after resigning from his position as coach of the Atlas Lions.

The Franco-Bosnian technician is in pole position since the withdrawal of Laurent Blanc, and his appointment seemed imminent with the mention of a signing on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. The arrival of the French Hernandez relaunches the signing of the contract.

Even if an agreement has already been reached between the FRMF and the Bosnian, there are still gray areas in terms of the staff who will accompany the former Nantes coach.

Vahid Halilhodzic is likely to prevail over the French technician as he has a long experience of African football in general and Morocco in particular (former coach of Algeria, winner of the Botola and the African Champions League with Raja Casablanca in 1997).
