Turkey Arrests 64 Suspected ISIS Members in Multi-City Raid, Seizes Weapons

Following a large-scale police operation in several cities, the Turkish authorities arrested 64 people, including a Moroccan national, suspected of belonging to the Islamic State Daesh.
The operation, which was launched on Monday morning, took place in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in Kaiseri and in Batman. Individuals of various nationalities were arrested during the police raids.
The search of the places of residence by the security agents allowed the seizure of firearms, ammunition, as well as documents belonging to the Daesh organization.
An investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor’s office to determine the exact nature and duration of the suspects’ relationship with the extremist organization.
