Treasure Hunters Arrested for Looting Ancient Gold Coins from Moroccan Cemetery

The royal gendarmerie brigade of Khouribga has gone after several treasure hunters. They would have exhumed treasures in a cemetery in the rural commune of Ouled Abdoune.
It all started with photos and a video showing clay jars full of gold coins, sent by an anonymous source to the royal gendarmerie brigade of Khouribga, reports Assabah. The first investigations carried out by the investigators led to the arrest of a first suspect.
Another suspect was also arrested while trying to enter the city at night. Not having an exceptional travel authorization, he explained that he was traveling for commercial purposes in coordination with a fkih whose identity was not disclosed. Based on this information, the gendarmes set out on the trail of the treasure hunters in the area. The investigators intend to verify the mobile phones of the arrested persons. They will be subject to technical expertise.
In addition, the gendarmes of the city traveled to the sites of treasure exhumation and drew up official reports under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The investigation continues in order to dismantle the network and all its ramifications, the same source specifies.
