Moroccan Authorities Bust Pedophile Ring in Chefchaouen, Suspect Arrested

It all started with a video showing the sexual abuse of a minor by a merchant in a commercial premises, reports Assabah. After becoming aware of this video, the elements of the royal gendarmerie brigade mobilized to identify the visible characters and arrest them. The victim reported to the investigators that in addition to the main suspect, there were other individuals who were also abusing her.

Among them, married men and family fathers engaged in commercial activities at the weekly souk of Adar in the commune of Bwaboude. According to the victim, the suspects threatened her not to denounce them and sometimes offered her gifts and a few dirhams. The investigators discovered that the minor identified in the video was not an isolated case. Other children were easy prey for these criminals.

Pending his appearance before the public prosecutor’s office, the main suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation continues in order to arrest the other members of this criminal gang currently on the run, on the one hand, and to identify all the victims, on the other.
