Notorious Moroccan Drug Lord Captured After Years on the Run Following Social Media Tip-offs

The most famous drug dealer in Meknes was arrested after several years on the run. He was the subject of eight national arrest warrants.
It all started with a series of posts on social media denouncing the activities of the famous baron and his brothers, reports Al Massae. The posts revealed that the members of this criminal network had managed to settle in the region with small-time dealers who were selling the merchandise while being intelligence agents for the famous baron. These were young dealers who were often arrested and detained.
Having become a real estate developer in Meknes and other regions, the baron’s activities were so successful that they provoked the anger of the people of Meknes. They launched a campaign of denunciation on social networks in order to inform the authorities.
The operation set up by the regional command of the Meknes gendarmerie in Bab Doukkalala in collaboration with the royal gendarmerie brigade of Tamaslouhte made it possible to intercept the suspect in the commune of Akfay, in the Meknes region. Arrested, he was taken into custody for the needs of the investigation.
