Major Drug Kingpin Arrested in Tangier Following 12-Ton Narcotics Bust

Another alleged drug trafficker was arrested in Tangier as part of the investigation opened following the seizure of 12 tons of drugs and the crash of a light aircraft transporting drugs to Spain.
The investigation opened and led from the headquarters of the Royal Gendarmerie in Rabat is bearing fruit. During a raid on a luxury villa located in the Malabata area of Tangier last Friday, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie arrested a drug baron, an accomplice of another already neutralized by the security services, reports Al Akhbar. They also seized large sums of money from drug trafficking.
This drug baron owns a tourist complex in the region. He also owns several real estate properties in the city, in addition to a company specializing in the marketing of carbonated waters. He would have links to the drugs (12 tons) seized in the commune of Had Gharbia on December 20 and the light aircraft transporting drugs that made a forced landing in the village of El Aouama, about 30 kilometers southeast of Tangier, on November 30.
Arrest warrants have also been issued against the accomplices of this baron. Several drug traffickers involved in these cases are still at large.
