Treasure Hunt Turns Deadly: Two Found Dead in Moroccan Cave Collapse

Two lifeless bodies were found last Monday, buried underground in the Tamguinant region, in the Azilal region, following the collapse of a cave. The tragedy was reported by an individual who claimed that two of his companions had fallen into the cave during the night of April 9 to 10, 2023.
Immediately alerted, the authorities and various services launched rescue operations to try to save the victims, but the two people were found dead under the rubble, confirmed the local authorities cited by the MAP.
The initial information indicates that the two victims were part of a group of seven people who were looking for precious metals (treasures) inside the cave before it collapsed following the excavations.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie are in charge of the investigation, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
