Deadly Road Crash Near Rabat Kills 5, Injures 27 in Morocco

Five people were killed and 27 others were injured, including 12 seriously, following a road accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon on regional road 404 connecting the commune of Brachoua to Romani, according to local sources.
The accident occurred at the level of the Bounjaja douar (commune of Brachoua) when the driver of a mixed transport vehicle lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree, the same sources said.
The local and security authorities, as well as the civil protection services, immediately took the necessary measures by evacuating the injured to the local hospital in Rommani, where several medical teams were mobilized to take care of them, the sources said. Five people were transferred to the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat due to the seriousness of their condition.
An investigation has been opened by the competent authorities under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
