Terrible accident near Azilal: heavy human toll (11 dead)

According to the first elements of the investigation, a mixed transport vehicle slid into a ravine after a failure of the braking system. The vehicle then overturned, causing the tragedy.

Alerted immediately, the rescue services mobilized on the spot. The injured were evacuated to the provincial hospital in Azilal to receive the necessary care.

An investigation has been opened by the Royal Gendarmerie under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

This accident is just the latest in a long series on Moroccan roads. In 2023, the number of traffic accidents increased by 7% compared to the previous year, with a consequent increase in the number of victims.
