Deadly Bus-Truck Collision on Morocco Highway Kills 3, Injures 25

A serious accident occurred on Sunday on the Marrakech-Agadir highway, near the "Draa" douar, not far from Imintanout, according to the local authorities of the province of Chichaoua.
The toll is three dead and 25 injured, five of whom are in critical condition. The accident occurred when a passenger bus heading to Agadir collided with a freight truck traveling in the same direction.
The local authorities, the Gendarmerie units and the civil protection services were quickly mobilized on the scene. They ensured the intervention, provided first aid to the victims, and evacuated the injured to the hospitals in the region. The evacuation operations were carried out by ambulances from the Civil Protection and local authorities.
The Gendarmerie services have opened an investigation under the authority of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy. The details of the incident are still being analyzed, with priority given to rescue operations and the evacuation of the injured.
