Morocco Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 1,305, Over 1,800 Injured

The toll of the terrible earthquake that hit the Marrakech region on Friday night into Saturday has worsened. According to figures released this evening by the Ministry of the Interior, more than 1,300 people have died.
In detail, the earthquake caused 1,305 deaths and 1,832 injuries, 1,220 of whom are in serious condition, according to the evening toll at 7 p.m. (Moroccan time).
The province of Al Haouz has 694 victims, Taroudant has 347, Chichaoua 191, Ouarzazate 39 and the prefecture of Marrakech 14. Note that no new deaths have been reported in the regions of Azilal, Agadir Ida Outanane, Grand Casablanca, Youssoufia and Tinghir.
The Moroccan authorities, following the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, are fully mobilized to accelerate rescue and care operations for the injured.
