Tragic Wave of Suicides Shakes Northern Morocco Cities

Morocco recorded three suicides during the past week in Tangier and Larache. A young man and a teenager committed suicide by hanging, while the third killed himself by cutting his wrists.
The 16-year-old girl committed suicide last Sunday by hanging herself with a rope in her parents’ house, in the Ben Saleh neighborhood, in Bir Chifa, in Tangier, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc. Her parents discovered her lifeless body in the afternoon around 3 p.m. Alerted, the police elements rushed to the scene. After the usual findings, her body was transferred to the morgue.
In Larache, another young man met the same fate by killing himself with a rope hung to a tree, in a forest of Madchar Krimda under the rural commune of Sahel. Like the teenager, his body was also evacuated to the morgue.
As for the third case of suicide, it was recorded in Tangier. The young man, a carpenter, slit the veins of his left wrist. His body was deposited in the same morgue as the teenager, the newspaper specifies. For now, the motives for these suicides are not yet known.
