Alarming Rise in Suicides Across Morocco: Young Parents and Man Among Recent Victims

Two mothers and a young man committed suicide in Nador, Berrechid and Taroudant. An attempted suicide by a young girl was also thwarted in Agadir thanks to the intervention of citizens.
In the Berreka neighborhood in Nador, an 18-year-old mother committed suicide last Thursday at her home by swallowing rat poison. She ended her life after two years of marriage during which she was always a victim of violence from her husband.
Another case of suicide was reported in El Gara in Berrechid. Mother of three children, she took her own life by ingesting a large quantity of medication. In addition to the two young women, a 20-year-old man committed suicide by hanging in Sebt El Gardane, Taroudant province.
In addition, a young girl tried to throw herself from the top of a building after a well-watered evening with a national of a Gulf country. Surprised, she had to give up her act.
