Casablanca Man Gets 10-Year Sentence for Killing Friend in Drunken Dispute

An individual was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Criminal Chamber near the Court of Appeal of Casablanca. He is accused of murdering his friend during a drunken evening.
It all started with a well-watered evening during which the defendant had invited his girlfriend, said the 28-year-old man in the report during his hearing. As they were getting drunk together, the victim had approached his girlfriend to seduce her.
Despite the many reminders to order from his friend, he continued to harass the young woman, claiming that she was a "girl for everyone". This insinuation was the last straw. Angry, the defendant slapped his friend who, wanting to take revenge, drew a knife. The young woman tried in vain to intervene to calm the two friends.
According to his girlfriend, the defendant pushed his friend who fell backwards and lost consciousness before succumbing to his injuries. Wanting to exculpate himself, the young man rather declared that the victim during the fight had fallen after losing his balance.
Before the prosecutor, he continued to proclaim his innocence. But he was finally sentenced to 10 years of criminal imprisonment while benefiting from extenuating circumstances.
Prosecuted for debauchery, the young woman, for her part, was sentenced to six months in prison with probation.
