Mother Charged with Strangling Teenage Daughter in Casablanca Home Dispute

A new story of infanticide shook the city of Casablanca in the afternoon of Monday. A 52-year-old woman is accused of having ended the life of her daughter by strangulation.
It was in a house in the old Derb soltane neighborhood that the events took place at the beginning of this week. The lifeless body of the 17-year-old girl was discovered by neighbors, alerted by her cries of distress.
According to testimonies collected by Aljarida24, the teenager would have violently opposed her mother, who had forbidden her to go out in the evening. Widowed for a few years, the fifty-year-old, who provides for the needs of her 3 children alone by selling cigarettes retail, would have refused to give in.
Exasperated by her daughter’s behavior, the accused suffocated her child, knowing that she had suffered from chronic asthma since childhood. The teenager dies of suffocation. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
