Torrential Rains Flood Tangier Streets, Overwhelming City’s Infrastructure

Torrential rains hit the city of Tangier all day Sunday, causing flooding in several streets and neighborhoods. The victims are calling for help.
Record rainfall reaching 121 millimeters has caused significant damage in the city where several streets and neighborhoods are flooded, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. The efforts of the company "Amendis", in charge of water and liquid management, remain insufficient to cope with this emergency situation, says Al3omk, specifying that no action has been taken to evacuate the water that has invaded the courtyard and classrooms of the Omar Khayyam high school in Mghogha.
In another neighborhood, the residents are in the dark after rainwater infiltrated the electrical transformer and damaged it. The houses are submerged and the residents are waiting for the rapid intervention of the local authorities to relieve them. For the moment, their calls for help have gone unanswered. They are particularly calling on Wali Younes Taouzzi to urgently find a viable solution to these floods.
