Thunderstorms and Heat Wave Hit Southern Morocco, Temperatures Reach 34°C

In addition to light rain and showers, the possibility of thunderstorms is announced on the plains of the North and the regions west of the Atlas and on the Mediterranean.

In the morning, the minimum temperatures recorded are around 2 to 9 degrees on the Atlas and Rif reliefs, 9 to 16 degrees on the Oriental, the Saïss, the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the northern and central plains, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Souss, the southeastern slopes and the north of the southern provinces. On the interior plains of the center, the southeast and the rest of the southern provinces, the recorded temperatures will be 16 to 22 degrees.

In the afternoon, it is expected to be 10 to 16 degrees on the Atlas reliefs, 16 to 22 degrees on the south of the Oriental, the Rif, the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the Atlantic plains of the North and Center, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus and near the coasts, 22 to 28 degrees on the Saïss, the interior plains of the North and Center, the Souss, the Southeast and the north of the southern provinces, and 28 to 34 degrees on the far southeast and the rest of the southern provinces.

In addition, the weather will be partly cloudy, with some sandstorms in places in the southern provinces. The wind will also be quite strong, from the north to east sector in the southern provinces, and in places, on the Atlantic coasts; moderate to quite strong, from the north to east sector, sometimes variable elsewhere.
