Winter Storm Brings Heavy Rain, Snow to Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and Coast

Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall are expected this Monday in several regions of Morocco, according to a press release from the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
Rains and showers accompanied by thunderstorms should affect the Atlas mountains, the southeast of Morocco and the Mediterranean coast.
The Souss, the north of the southern provinces, the plains to the north and center of the country and the Oriental will experience a rather dense cloudy sky with rain or thundery showers. In addition, snowfall will affect the Atlas mountains.
According to the DMN, the minimum temperatures will be between -1 to 6 degrees on the Atlas and the Rif mountains, 6 to 13 degrees on the Oriental, the Mediterranean coast, the Tangier region, the Saïss, the plains to the north and center, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Souss, the southeast and the north of the southern provinces, and 13 to 19 degrees on the southeast and the rest of the southern provinces.
In the afternoon, it is expected 5 to 12 degrees on the Atlas and Rif mountains, 12 to 20 degrees on the Oriental, the Mediterranean coast, the Tangier region, the Saïss, the plains to the north and center of the country, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the southeast and near the Atlantic coasts, 20 to 26 degrees on the southeast and the north of the southern provinces, and 26 to 31 degrees on the far southeast and the rest of the southern provinces.
