Morocco Braces for Thunderstorms, Snow in Atlas Mountains as Weather Alert Issued

Thunderstorms are still forecast for this Sunday with snowfall in some areas, according to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
These heavy showers will be recorded in the Northwest with light rain in the south of the Oriental, the Atlas and the Southeast. Snowfall is also expected on the Atlas mountains. In addition, the weather will be partly cloudy elsewhere with sandstorms in places in the southern provinces.
According to the DMN, the minimum temperature will be around -1 to 6 degrees on the Atlas and Rif mountains, 6 to 13 degrees on the Oriental, the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the Saiss, the northern and central plains, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Souss, the slopes of the Southeast and the north of the southern provinces, and 13 to 19 degrees on the Southeast and the rest of the southern provinces.
In the afternoon, on the other hand, it is expected 5 to 12 degrees on the Atlas and Rif mountains, 12 to 20 degrees on the Oriental, the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the Saiss, the northern and central plains, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the slopes of the Southeast and near the coasts, 20 to 26 degrees on the Souss, the Southeast and the north of the southern provinces, and 26 to 31 degrees on the far Southeast and the rest of the southern provinces.
