Three Arrested in Morocco After Fleeing Police, Injuring Officer with Tricycle

Three people were arrested on Tuesday in Salé. They would have refused to comply with the injunctions of police officers, caused a traffic accident and endangered the lives of public officials.
The case dates back to last Saturday, when the three suspects refused to comply with the injunctions of a patrol, in charge of checking compliance with the state of emergency measures imposed to counter the coronavirus pandemic, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The accused then rushed at the security devices with this vehicle, thus exposing a policeman to intentional injuries after having dragged him over a long distance by means of the tricycle.
According to the same source, the video of this scene was widely circulated on social networks. Thanks to the investigations, the defendants, including a 17-year-old minor, were identified before being arrested, on Monday in Laâyayda in Salé, in Bouchane, near Ben Guérir and in Salé.
Arrested, two defendants were placed in custody for the needs of the investigation, while the minor suspect was placed under police control.
