Father and Son Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer During COVID Lockdown in Morocco

The non-compliance with the state of health emergency pushed, on Saturday, the police elements of the Salé district, to arrest a father and his son. At the time of their arrest, they refused to comply and, through various actions, endangered the life of an official in the performance of his duties.
According to the report made by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), a police officer tried to submit to control, an individual who had no authorization and who was trying to enter the walls of the old medina on board a tricycle. The defendant refused to comply, "subjecting the police officer to a physical assault, with the support of his father, who arrived on the scene." But fortunately, they were apprehended by the police.
Some sequences of the intervention, filmed by the sister of the person concerned, ended up on instant messaging applications and social networks, the DGSN specified. The defendant was taken into custody. His father, for his part, was subjected to a judicial investigation, to determine the ins and outs of these criminal acts, the statement concludes.
