Moroccan Officer Draws Weapon to Subdue Armed, Intoxicated Suspect Vandalizing Cars

A police officer from the provincial security district of El Kelâa des Sraghna brandished his service weapon without using it to apprehend a repeat offender. The latter was harming the property of others and exposing the lives of the police officers to imminent danger with the use of a bladed weapon.
An emergency police patrol had intervened to arrest the 24-year-old suspect, who was in an advanced state of intoxication, and was damaging the windshields of five parked cars in the En-Nakhla neighborhood of the city, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
During his arrest, he had violently resisted the police officers, which forced a sergeant to brandish his service weapon to apprehend the suspect and seize the weapon used in this assault, the same source said.
Pending the elucidation of this case and the determination of all the criminal acts with which he is charged, the suspect was placed in custody.
