Agadir Police Officer Fires Weapon to Subdue Armed Suspect Threatening Mother

A police inspector from the Agadir security district used his weapon to apprehend a 23-year-old repeat offender. The latter had damaged the property of others and exposed the safety of his own mother and that of the police officers to serious and imminent danger using a bladed weapon.
This arrest follows an alert received by the national security services through the emergency number (19). The suspect, who was in an advanced state of intoxication, caused disorder on the public highway in the Ben Sergao region, causing material damage to the windshield of a private car and threatening his own mother with a bladed weapon, which required the intervention of a police patrol, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The suspect strongly resisted the police officers, forcing a police officer to use his service weapon and fire two shots, one warning shot and the second hitting the suspect in the abdomen, the same source said. The police managed to neutralize the danger from him before arresting him. The bladed weapon used to perpetrate this assault was seized, the statement continued.
Pending the determination of the ins and outs of this case and all the criminal acts attributed to him, the injured suspect was transferred to the hospital, where he was placed under medical supervision.
