Police Draw Weapons to Subdue Armed, Intoxicated Suspect in Salé, Morocco

The aggressiveness during the arrest of a repeat offender forced the elements of the Anti-Gang Brigade of the Provincial Security of Salé on Wednesday morning to draw their weapons to subdue him.
The 21-year-old man was intoxicated and "sowing chaos and vandalizing a parked vehicle on the public road" in Sala Al Jadida. This is what required the intervention of the nearest police patrol to apprehend the suspect, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The accused "fiercely resisted to the point of injuring a police inspector, using one of the two bladed weapons in his possession". Feeling threatened, the police had no choice but to use their service weapons as a preventive measure, the DGSN said.
Pending the determination of the ins and outs of this case, the defendant was taken into custody.
