Bribery Attempt Leads to Arrests in Casablanca Traffic Accident Case

Two individuals were arrested in Casablanca. They are accused of being allegedly involved in a case of attempted corruption of a police officer and identity theft.
It all started with the presentation of the two accused parties to the traffic accident department in Sidi Moumen in Casablanca to intervene on behalf of a relative involved in a traffic accident with serious injuries and non-presentation of documents for a motorcycle, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The two suspects, aged 27 and 30, tried to bribe the police commissioner, head of the said department, with a sum of money to remove the motorcycle from the municipal impound lot.
According to the DGSN, the search operations carried out as part of this case led to the discovery, in the possession of the two suspects, of professional cards, checks in the name of others, receipts and stamps in the name of a company. These objects were seized to ensure their authenticity, the conditions of their acquisition and their use.
Arrested, the two defendants were placed in custody for the needs of the investigation.
