Tétouan Cracks Down on Restaurant Health Violations Amid Tourist Surge

The joint commission of the province of Tétouan, responsible for monitoring hygiene and health safety conditions, carried out inspection visits in more than 350 restaurants between June 1 and September 30 last year. In total, 1,470 kilos of spoiled food were seized and destroyed.
According to data from the economic section of the Tétouan provincial prefecture, the commission carried out 61 inspection visits to 347 catering establishments, including 12 classified tourist establishments and a camping center, during the period. At the end of these visits, four establishments were closed and 59 received warnings. Samples (43) of food products offered for sale were also taken for analysis.
