Terrorism Suspect Found Dead in Moroccan Prison Cell

The administration of the central prison of Kenitra announced on Monday that the prisoner "Z.O", involved in cases of extremism and terrorism, committed suicide.
On Monday evening, "Z.O" hanged himself using a braided wire that he tied around his neck and attached to a water supply pipe in his cell. According to the details provided by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), the inmate suffered from mental disorders and was undergoing treatment prescribed by the prison doctor.
The inmate took his own life because he would have been affected by the fact that his wife had been the victim of a "scam", the press release states, specifying that in this case of fraud, the deceased had lost his voice and some of his belongings.
The news of the inmate’s suicide was announced to his family and the competent judicial authorities, who will take the necessary measures, in accordance with the law in force.
