Two Inmates Die by Suicide in Moroccan Prisons Within 24 Hours

A man convicted of terrorism committed suicide on Wednesday at the Ras El Ma prison in Fez. This is the second suicide recorded in Morocco in 24 hours in a prison.
According to a press release from the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), the prisoner from the Ras El Ma prison committed suicide using the same modus operandi as the one who committed suicide in Oujda by using pieces of fabric extracted from his clothes.
For the moment, the DGAPR has not provided more details on the prisoner who committed suicide. No one knows yet if he was part of the same cell as Chamharouch whose members were sentenced to death for the murders of Imlil.
Let’s recall that on Tuesday, February 28, Abderrahmane Khayali, sentenced to death for the murder of two Norwegian and Danish tourists, had committed suicide at the Oujda civil prison.
