A 15-year-old girl died in the Aïn Chock neighborhood of Casablanca after inhaling laughing gas. Four suspects have been arrested as part of the investigation.
The victim died on Wednesday, before being admitted to the hospital, reports Le Matin. The investigation, conducted by the judicial police brigade of Aïn Chock, led to the arrest of four suspects. They are accused of illegal sale of toxic substances, facilitating drug use by minors, and abuse of the vulnerability of a minor.
The first suspect was with the victim at the time of the events. His testimony will help determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy. The second is the owner of a business that, according to the investigation, was engaged in a traffic of laughing gas. The searches carried out by the investigators led to the seizure of 250 ml gas bottles, plastic balloons used for inhalation, as well as boxes of contraband shisha tobacco.
The third suspect is none other than the owner’s assistant. As for the fourth suspect, he is the manager of a cafe where the consumption of this laughing gas is allowed. The investigators proceeded to seize the surveillance cameras of the establishment to view them in order to determine the circumstances of the minor’s death.
After their arrest, the four suspects were taken into custody, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The victim’s body was transferred to the morgue for the needs of the autopsy.
