Teen Arrested in Morocco for $12,000 Money Transfer Agency Heist

An 18-year-old individual was arrested on Monday evening by the judicial police of Oujda for his alleged involvement in a burglary inside a money transfer agency. A sum of 120,000 dh was stolen according to the findings of the police services.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the research and investigation operations made it possible to identify the person involved in this case of theft and to proceed with his arrest in Ain Bni Mathar.
In coordination with their counterparts in the city of Bouarfa, the elements of the judicial police of Oujda were able to seize the majority of the funds stolen during this criminal act. The defendant was planning to use this stolen sum to embark on an illegal immigration operation in the company of another person, who was also arrested as part of this same case, adds the DGSN.
The accused were placed in custody for the purposes of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the ins and outs of this case, as well as its reasons and motives, concluded the DGSN.
