Tarik Sektioui at the head of the Moroccan U23 team, a risky bet?

Issame Charaï is no longer the coach of the Moroccan Olympic football team. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has thanked him and appointed Tarik Sektioui, former coach of Maghreb de Fès, in his place.
This very risky change, the reasons for which are unknown, comes less than five months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The FRMF explains its decision by the desire to establish better coordination and a more fluid exchange between the various technical staffs of the national teams.
The Atlas Lions U23 will start their preparation for the Olympics with two friendly matches this month of March. They will face the Ukrainian team on March 22, then the Welsh team four days later.
To recall, the Moroccan Olympic team qualified for the Paris Olympics by winning the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in July 2023. The men’s Olympic tournament will take place from July 24 to August 10, 2024.
