Morocco’s Olympic Soccer Coach Faces Tough Squad Selection for Paris 2024

As the Paris Olympics approach, Tarik Sektioui, coach of the Moroccan Olympic team, is dealing with a huge puzzle.
How to establish the final list of players for the training camp at the Mohammed VI Center in Rabat, in preparation for the Olympics which will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris? This is the puzzle for Tarik Sektioui, the number of players being reduced to 18 for the Olympics. The coach of the Moroccan Olympic team should call on three players from the national team, but some players from the Moroccan professional championship who did not perform well in recent friendly matches have been excluded. Sektioui has the possibility of choosing a player from among them: Mehdi Moubarak and El Mehdi Mouhoub from Raja Casablanca, the star of Union Touarga, Tawfik Bentayeb, or the striker of AS FAR, Hamza Igamane.
Housed in Group B, the Atlas Cubs will face Argentina, Ukraine and Iraq. Morocco qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics thanks to its victory at the 2023 U23 AFCON, the first in its history.
