Morocco Eyes Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou for Paris 2024 Olympic Squad

Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions and Tarik Sektioui, the coach of the Olympic team, are trying to convince the goalkeeper of the Moroccan team and the Saudi club Al-Hilal FC, Yassine Bounou, to join the Olympians, in order to participate in the Olympic Games which will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.

Will Yassine Bounou and Munir El Kajoui be on the final list of Moroccan players for the Paris Olympic Games? Walid Regragui and Tarik Sektioui, coach of the Olympic team, are counting on the experience of these two Moroccan goalkeepers, reports the site Kooora, adding that Regragui, as supervisor of the national teams, recently exchanged with Yassine Bounou, currently on vacation in Morocco on this subject and an announcement could be made in this sense in the next few days.

The difficulties of Regragui and Sektioui related to the establishment of the final list of players for the Olympic Games which will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris seem to be a thing of the past. Clubs have agreed to release Moroccan players so that they can participate in this sporting event. These are Abdessamad Ezzalzouli from Real Betis, Ilias Akhomach from Villarreal, Yassine Kechta and Oussama Targhalline from Le Havre AC, Eliesse Ben Seghir from Monaco and the playmaker from Saint-Étienne Benjamin Bouchouari.

Housed in group B, the Lionceaux de l’Atlas will face Argentina, Ukraine and Iraq. Morocco qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics thanks to its victory in the 2023 U23 AFCON, the first in its history.
