Morocco Faces Olympic Squad Selection Challenges Ahead of Paris 2024

Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, and Tarik Sektioui, coach of the Moroccan Olympic team, are having difficulty establishing the final list of players for the Olympics to be held from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
As the Olympics approach, Walid Regragui and Tarik Sektioui are having difficulty finding the best combination, due to the refusal of some clubs to allow their players to participate in the Olympics, as is the case with Brahim Diaz, star of Real Madrid, reports Kooora. They held a meeting to find an alternative: present an alternative plan, including the recruitment of players from the local championship, to replace the players who will not participate in the Olympics.
In a statement to Arriyadia, the coach of the Atlas Lions confirmed the existence of these difficulties. He said he would intensify his tours with Sektioui, with the support of the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, to convince some European clubs to be more flexible.
Housed in Group B, the Atlas Cubs will face Argentina, Ukraine and Iraq. Morocco qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics thanks to its victory at the 2023 U23 CAN, the first in its history.
